<p dir="RTL">الغرض من هذا البحث هو لمعرفة تأثير استراتيجية توجيه التفكير خلال القراءة (<em>DRTA</em>) على فهم المقروء في المدرسة العالية الإسلامية الحكومية ١ بادنج بانجنج خصوصا للفصل الحادي عشر. واستعملت الكاتبة منهج البحث التجريبي. وتصميم البحث هو تصميم بحث تجريبي حقيقي، بنوع تصميم مجموعة التحكم فى مرحلة ما بعد الاختبار فقط. طريقة جمع البيانات هي الامتحان و طريقة تحليلها هي . وبعد أن تستعمل الكاتبة استراتيجية توجيه التفكير خلال القراءة (<em>DRTA</em>)، فيوجد معدل النتائج في الفرقة التجريبية هي ٩٢،٩٠ ومعدل النتائج في الفرقة الضابطة هي ٧٠،٣٦. ثم وجدت الكاتبة أن نتيجة أكبر من نتيجة ، و هي ٢،٦٨٢ ˃<strong> </strong>١٠،٨٢<strong>. </strong>فلذلك، الفروض العدمية مردودة و الفروض التبادلية مقبولة. والخلاصة من هذا البحث، أن استراتيجية توجيه التفكير خلال القراءة (<em>DRTA</em>) تؤثر على فهم المقروء.</p><p><em><strong></strong>This research aims to analyze the influence of Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy on reading comprehension of Arabic language at MAN I Padang Panjang. The researcher used experimental research. The design was post-test only control group of true-experimental design. Technique of data collection is reading test and then analyzed by using t-test. After DRTA strategy was implemented in experimental group, while control group was taught using conventional method, it was obtained that the mean score of the experimental group was 90.92 and the mean score of control class was 70.36. Then, by using t-test, it was found that tcalculated is higher than ttable, 10,82>2,682. It means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that DRTA strategy influences students’ reading comprehension in Arabic language.</em></p>

<em><em>There has been a trend of utilizing mobile tools in the university. This study is proposed to construct mobile learning media based on Android for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah or Primary School in Learning Strategy courses. The study participants were university students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education in Malang. The study design was R and D with both quantitative and qualitative data. The study result have been in the form of mobile learning media based on Android. Six expert judgments have validated this product to ascertain the feasibility of the designed prototype. The validation by material experts' validation results were 91% and 89% valid, while validation rates by design experts were 93% and 92%. The validation result by learning experts showed 88% and 89% valid. The design was tested to three students with individual trials, then to a small group trial with ten students, and finally, a field trial on an experimental class of 43 students using a questionnaire. The trials' result on small groups showed 88% valid, and the field trials showed 86% valid. The findings indicated that Android-based mobile learning on learning strategy course material had a better effect than conventional learning on student learning outcomes.</em></em>

<em><em>The aim of this study is to describe the game addiction behavior and its effect on mental health of teenagers. This study used qualitative method. The data collection was carried out in three ways: interview, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman’s theories. In order to maintain the validity, the researcher did triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed that online game addiction had an effect on several domains, namely a sense of dependency that was marked by disability to withdraw from the desire to play games. Accordingly, the gamers frequently declared that their life without online gaming was empty. They were intolerance to the use of time, as they said that the time needed to play online games was uncertain, and their disability to control their emotions due to defeat during the games.</em></em>

<em><em>This study aims to investigate at students' perceptions on basic physics practicum guides on mobile learning. This research was a descriptive study involving 117 students with 59 physics education students and 58 chemistry ones. The instruments were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews intended to strengthen the quantitative data. The data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaire to the physics and chemistry education students who have conducted physics practicum using a mobile-based guide. Then interview was conducted only to those willing to be interviewed. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics to determine students' perceptions on mobile-based practicum guides.. The results showed that the practical learning guide based on mobile learning is feasible to use with the results of the perception of physics education included in both categories with a frequency of 38 (64.4%) and for chemical education perceptions also in the good category with a frequency of 28 (48.3%). The data were supported by interview results showing that students are more interested and enthusiastic in conducting practical work because they used mobile-based guides.</em></em>

<em><em>This article discusses the efforts of Islamic boarding schools to form educational moderation, models of moderation and the implications of pesantren education moderation. The design of this study was qualitative with a theological and pedagogical approaches. The informants of this research wre the leaders, religious teachers, administrators, and students. Furthermore, the data were collected through interviews, observations and documentation. To test the validity of the data, triangulation of data was performed. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely: reduction, presentation and conclusion drawing from the data. The findings of this study were; first, the pesantren efforts in shaping education moderation by socializing all forms of extremism and radicalism to the studensts, choosing teaching materials or books that are free from extremist values and radicalism, designing moderate curriculum and learning methods. Second, the education moderation model that integrates learning and collaboration with the life of pesantren. Third, the implications of educational moderation for pesantren were in forms of; positive community assessments of pesantren, increasingly moderate community, and making pesantren as a reference for the community.</em></em>

<p><em>This paper aims to explain the effectiveness of mind mapping techniques in counseling to improve </em><em>s</em><em>tudents</em><em>’</em><em> memory ability in learning. This research uses experimental</em><em> d</em><em>esign,</em><em> esp</em><em>ecially</em><em> p</em><em>retest-posttest control group designs. The population of this research is </em><em>the second semester students of </em><em>Department of</em><em> Islamic </em><em> Communication and Broadcasting of </em><em> </em><em>FUAD IAIN Batusangkar Academic Year 2018/2019</em><em>. The sample size was </em><em>12</em><em> students</em><em>, consisting of an experimental group and a control group. Data analysis </em><em>used</em><em> independent t test through the SPSS computer program. release 20. The results of the study indicate that the mind mapping technique in counseling is effective in improving students' ability to remember lessons. These findings can be used </em><em>as an alternative </em><em>by lecturers and students </em><em>to </em><em>overcom</em><em>e </em><em>student</em><em>s’ problem</em><em>s to remember the lessons in learning.</em><strong><em></em></strong></p>

<em>The research goal is to develop an accurate learning evaluation instrument in Social science (IPS) subject in elementary school. The method used is Research and Development, following the 4 main steps of the Richey RDPE model, namely: research, design, production and evaluation. Field trials were carried out 2 times, with the number of respondents increasing each stage. Analysis of item characteristics uses classical test theory. The results of the development are in the form of achievement tests for Social science subjects at the fifth grade of elementary school, consisting of 35 multiple choice items and 5 essay items. The test was developed by following the standards for writing a proper test, all procedures taken have been approved by experts from a qualitative perspective. Item analysis is performed for multiple choice tests with 94.3% of questions have moderate difficulty level, the range of index values is 0.53-0.67. 80% of the items have good differentiation, the average index value is 0.30-0.50. Optimization of teacher-made achievement tests produces more qualified test kits in performing measurement functions, as evidenced by the scores obtained by students which accurately describe their real abilities during the learning process</em>

<p><em>The research objective is to restore drug users through the implementation of Islamic education. The research method used was descriptive qualitative method. The informants considered as the data sources were the drug users, their parents, the owner of the rehabilitation center, Yayasan Pusat Rehabilitasi Narkoba Ar-Rahman Palembang, and the local government. The data were analyzed through descriptive normative analysis. The results of this study are 1) rehabilitation is directed at two aspects namely physical and spiritual recovery; 2) the rehabilitation method used is the method of Dhikr and TC (Therapeutic Community) conducted for 6 months; and 3) Islamic education implemented in rehabilitating drug users with a spiritual moral approach includes teaching education on religious foundations, Shalah together, dhikr, and guidance on reading the Qur’an</em>.</p>

<em>This study aims at determining the effectiveness of powerpoint games in developing initial mathematical abilities. The approach used was quantitative with a quasi experimental method type pretest-posttest group design. The population of this study was all of the group B early young learners in Koto Tangah Subdistrict, Padang City 2018/2019 academic year. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling with a total sample of 30 children. The data were collected by using an initial mathematical ability test adopted from REMA the Research Based Early Mathematics Assessment. Data analysis technique was an independent t-test, seeing a comparison of differences in average scores. The result shows that powerpoint games were effective in developing early mathematical abilities in the experimental group compared to the control group. The use of powerpoint games can be an alternative learning media in developing other aspects of development.</em>

<em><em>Preliminarily, it was found that there are some problems faced by teachers in teaching and learning process. The problems are the teachers still implement classical rather than cooperative learning. Moreover, it is hard for them to make students active in the classroom, especially in asking questions and delivering ideas or opinions. Furthermore, it is also hard for them to develop students' curiosity in learning process. To overcome these problems, one solution which can be used is implementation of example non example method. The purpose of the research was to know the effect of example non example method on students' competence. It was a quasi experimental research. It was done in SMPN 18 Padang to VII grade students. Purposive sampling technique was used to take samples. The data were obteined through observation sheets for psychomotor competence. The technique of data analysis used Mann-Whitney U-Test in assistance of SPSS software. The findings show that the example non example method has significant effect on students' psychomotor competence.</em></em>

<div class="Section1"><p><em>This research aims to describe the implementation of authentic assessment of 2013 curriculum<strong> at SMA PMT Prof. Dr. Hamka </strong>Padang. The descriptions were the kinds of assessment, the implementation of assessment and the problem encountered by the teachers. Participants were two English teachers and 7 students as the representative chosen purposively. This is descriptive research. The data were obtained from the instruments used which were observation checklist and interview guideline. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The result shows that 52,5% of assessment was implemented by all English teachers. The numbers of the students became main problems besides basic knowledge, overburdened of time and classroom management. In short, the English teachers’ assessment belonged to ‘Fair’ category. Consequently, the assessment training and workshop should be followed by the teachers. Furthermore, the researcher can widen research to know the assessment implemented by English teachers of the 2013 curriculum.</em></p></div>

<em><em>This research was conducted at Mathematics Education Study Program at Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculties of IAIN Padangsidimpuan at the third semester 2018-2019 academic year. Research method used is quantitative method with bivariate comparative analysis approach aiming to find out the significant differences in students' mathematical communication skills in statistical subjects. The design of this research is a one short case study comparing the result of two treatments after the post tests. The research was conducted in one classroom, in which one treatment preceding the other treatment with different materials yet contain similar components and difficulties. The result of the research shows that there is significant difference in ability of mathematical communication between problem based learning and project based learning with </em>t<sub>count </sub>> t<sub>table:</sub> <em>3,673 > 2,042; in which PjBL is higher than PBL. </em> <em>In conclusion, PjBL is significantly better than PBL in term of students’ ability in mathematical communication</em></em>

<em>This study aims to find out the steps, characteristics, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the curriculum development policy of Madrasah Aliyah Qismul ‘Aly Al-Washliyah in North Sumatra. This study uses qualitative research methods of policy analysis. The data were gained by means of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings of this study are: a) The steps in developing the Aliyah Qismul 'Aly Al-Washliyah madrasah curriculum were in the form of: education policy formulation through the guidance of the Al-Washliyah Education Council, filed in a Decree (SK), then being socialized to the regions and Madrasah Aliyah Qismul 'Aly, b) the characteristics of the implementation of curriculum development policies for Madrasah Aliyah Qismul' Aly include the curriculum of Diniyah Al-Washliyah, Al-Washliyahan subjects and General Imtihan examinations, c) Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of policies for the development of Madrasah Aliyah Qismul curriculum Aly through the assistance of the Al-Washliyah Education Council and assisted by madrasah supervisors pointed by the government. The evaluation was carried out by going down to the region while monitoring all the policy programs must be implemented.</em>

<em>Based on the preliminary studies at SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan, it was found that the lack of interest and motivation caused the students less active in the learning process. In addition, the teacher’s teaching model and media were not appropriate, especially within human circulatory system material that made the student learning outcomes still under the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims at figuring out the effectiveness of Discovery Learning Model Plus Pictures on students’ cognitives at class XI students of SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan.This is an experimental research with the population class XI 2017/2018 academic year. The sampling method uses purposive sampling; class XI IPA1 as experimental class, and class XI IPA3 as control class. The instrument used in cognitive assessment is the final test with multuple choices. Based on the results of the study, the cognitive results of the experimental class were 81.05 and the control class was 77.39. From this study, it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning learning model plus images influences the cognitive of class XI students of SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan</em>

<em>The main issue discussed in this article is the students’ low interest in reading textbooks. In addition, students do not use various techniques. As a result, they feel bored, and less concentrated when reading. The theory used in this research is the reading theory proposed by Tarigan (2008), reading comprehension techniques by Agustina (2008) and SQ3R reading techniques by Ermanto (2008) and Agustina (2008). This type of research is quantitative research using experimental method with SQ3R reading techniques. The population of this study were Indonesian Language and Literature Education students of FKIP Bung Hatta University who took the Reading Teaching Skills course. The sample was elected purposively. Based on data analysis, it was found that students did not apply the SQ3R reading technique well in determining the theme, plot, background, characterization, point of view and mandate, with an average value of 80.5. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of SQ3R reading techniques towards students’ reading comprehension at FKIP of Bung Hatta University Padang.</em>

<p><em><em>This study aims to determine the effect of the use of guided inquiry learning modules on critical thinking skills of students and comparing critical thinking skills of students taught through guided inquiry learning modules and conventional learning models. This is an experimental research. The data of the research were obtained through a test, and observatio . The normality, homogeneity, and the difference between the two sets of data were computed using the SPSS 16.0 For Windows program. Questionnaire result data for each student is given a score according to a scale. Then, the average score per statement and the average total score were found out. The results showed that the guided inquiry learning module and conventional learning could significantly improve students' critical thinking skills and the improvement of critical thinking skills with the treatment of guided inquiry learning models was significantly better than conventional learning. And the results of students’ activity in the experiment class are better than that in the control class.</em></em></p><em></em>

<em>The research discusses about the design of electronic module assembly and installating computer. The module was designed for assembling and installating computer content displayed in digital way, so this modul is very flexible and easy to be used. The content was displayed by video to make it easier to understand by the learners. The method used consists of several phases; analysis, design, coding and testing. The design used UML process and then was developed by Kvisoft Flip book maker. The result of this research shows how the assembly and installation module was easier to be used for the teacher and the students.</em>

<p><em>This article contains a study about the use of crossword media in improving the language skills of elementary school students as an effort to create a fun class. The problem was students’ lack of eagerness to emotionally involve in learning process. This condition caused an impact on students’ unsatisfaying learning outcomes that is 80. To overcome this problem, crossword puzzle media are used in learning by referring to the research models of Kemmis and Taggart. The data were collected by using observation sheets, interview guidelines, questionnaires, tests of student learning outcomes and field observations. At the end of the study, it was found that both the students’ learning outcomes and activities, and the teacher performance in planning and implementing teaching increased from cycle I to cycle II. As the result, the learning exceeded the target of the minimum standard of completeness. Thus, the utilization of crossword puzzles is considered to able to improve students' language skills, as well as create fun classes</em><br /><em></em></p>

<em>This study focuses on the strengthening research culture through research-based learning in universities. This is a library research whose data source from reference books, scientific journals, proceedings, magazines, legislation and similar research results accessed through libraries and open journal systems. The data collection is conducted by compiling data in accordance with sub-problems which are then systematically organized. Data analysis is done by content analysis techniques to obtain theories or concepts and research results that are able to answer research problems. The results of this study indicate; 1) research is an important approach to improving the quality of learning, 2) to strengthen the culture of research at least there are four integrated focuses; (a) learning the latest research in lectures, (b) teaching research techniques or methods in each lecture taught by lecturers, (c) learning involving students to conduct research, and (d) discussion, debate or brainstorming to criticize research. 3) the benefits of PBR for students are; (a) students become usual in doing thesis because they are familiar with how to research, (b) trained to think, analyze, express and defend ideas, (c) trained to work in a planned manner, (d) trained to work hard, and (e) trained work in teams, connect with other people and collaborate.</em>
