<p><em>This research was motivated by a fact that some of students of mathematics study program at STAIN Batusangkar have low ability in mathematics communication and mathematics disposition on Geometry subject. This is indicated by the students’ inability to answer the questions on mathematics communication. In order to solve this problem, the researcher designed a research on learning strategy using Problem-based in Geometry subject. This research applied experimental method using randomized control group only design. The population of this research was the third semester students registered in 2014/2015 academic year. They consisted of three classes. The data were taken from the final test of each sample. The research findings show that the two hypotheses were accepted. Therefore, students’ ability was better in mathematics communication by applying learning strategy using problem-based than conventional learning. In addition to this, students’ ability was better in mathematics disposition by using learning strategy using problem-based than conventional learning.</em><em></em></p><strong>Kata kunci: </strong>Kemampuan komunikasi, disposisi matematis, dan strategi pembelajaran berbasis masalah

<p><em>The rapid development of knowledge and technology brings learners to innovative things in their lives. Television is one of technologies lead learners to the positive things. For example, television could facilitate learners to study easily and enlarge their horizons. It, however, has a negative effect on learners’ personality. Learners assume that what they watch and listen are absolutely correct. As a result, they do all the things as what they watch. They are failed to filter the positive values on television. In order to anticipate these negative values, teachers should corporate to parents. Parents, for example, could empower leaner’s iman (faith), build their character values, and enrich their ibadah (worship) to God Almighty. <p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar membaca bahasa Arab siswa kelas satu semester dua di MAN 3 Padang Panjang dengan menggunakan model <em>quatum teaching</em>. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model Kemmis and Burns. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan <em>quantum teaching</em> dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa. Peningkatan tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai membaca yang diperoleh siswa pada setiap siklusnya. Nilai rata-rata pada siklus I 69,96, siklus II 74,42, dan siklus III 83,91. Artinya, ada peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada setiap siklusnya. Persentase motivasi belajar siswa pada siklus I 63,75%, siklus II 77%, dan siklus III 84,9%. Penerapan model <em>quantum teaching</em> dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa yang dapat dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar siswa di setiap siklusnya.</p><p><em>This study aims to describe the second semester of first grade students’ achievement in learning reading of Arabic language at MAN 3 Padang Panjang by using quantum teaching model. This is a classroom action research using Kemmis and Burns model. The result shows that implementing quantum teaching in Arabic learning can improve students’ ability in reading. The improvement is proved by reading scores obtained by students in every cycle. The mean score at cycle I is 69.96, at cycle II is 74.42, and at cycle III is 83.91. It means that there is an improvement of students’ motivation at every cycle. The percentage of students’ motivation at cycle I is 63.75%, at cycle II is 77%, and at cycle III is 84.9%. The implementation of quantum teaching model has increased which can be seen by the improvement of students’ achievement in every cycle.</em></p>

<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas belajar siswa dan hasil belajarnya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe <em>make a match</em> dalam pembelajaran <em>hiwar</em>. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa tipe <em>make a match</em> dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa kelas X MAS Plus Padang Ganting. Relevansi aktivitas belajar siswa pada siklus II meningkat sekitar 23,11%, dan aktivitas belajar siswa yang tidak relevan menurun sekitar 16,26% pada siklus II. Pemahaman siswa terhadap <em>hiwar </em>meningkat 13,33% dan ketuntasan belajar juga meningkat 20,86% pada siklus II.</p><p><em>This study aims to describe students’ activities and their learning outcomes using make a match type of cooperative learning model in learning hiwar. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. Data were collected through observation and then analyzed by using descriptive qualitative technique. The results of the data analysis indicate that make a match type can increase the activity and learning achievement of class X MAS Plus Padang Ganting students. The relevancy of students’ activities and learning activities in cycle II is increased for about 23.11%, and the unrelevancy of students’ activities and learning activities is decreased for about 16.26% in cycle II. While, students’ understanding about hiwar is increased 13.33%, and learning completeness is also increased 20.86% in cycle II.</em></p>

<div class="WordSection1"><p><em>The study analyzes the potential, opportunities, human resources and challenges in improving wakaf empowerment in Tanah Datar. The method that used in this research is a field research. To collect data that needed in this study is by interviews and documentation. Data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative. Result of this study is expected to produce guidelines or rule for the conduct of wakaf and can be used as a foothold in making policies. Base on data, potential of wakaf in in Tanah Datar about 639 locations already have wakaf certificate (AIW). A religious community of Tanah Datar people could be more efective to improve wakaf empowerment by using the rule that stated by government to manage of wakaf in Tanah Datar. <p><em>This paper examines the impact of the destruction of the Abbasid dynasty to the contemporary Islamic world. Abbasid dynasty setbacks caused by two factors, namely internal and external. Internal factors are the most dominant influence on deterioration of the Abbasid dynasty, which for Muslims to leave their religion. While external factors are the most dominant influence on deterioration of the Abbasid dynasty, namely: the Crusades and the Mongol army raid into the torritery of Islam. The impact of the destruction of the Abbasid dynasty to the contemporary Islamic world seen from the aspect of science, politics and economics. In the aspect of science, after the fall of the Abbasid Muslims are always behind in the field of science against the West. In the political aspect, when the Muslims led by a king who was a Syamanism (worshipers of sun) is Khulagu Khan, and the contemporary period the loss of the power of Islam as a superpower. Muslims are fragmented, Muslims colonized by the West, there is no caliphate. <p><em>Approaches in Islamic studies should be appropriate with the object under studies. Linguistic approach is one of the approaches in Islamic studies whose object is scripture (manuscripts or texts). <p><em>This study aimed at examining the relationship between Islamic values and public services. To achieve the purpose it employed survey research design. The patients in Ibnu Sina Islamic hospital were assigned as respondents and questionnaire was used to assess their perceptions toward the values and the quality services provided by the hospital. The findings showed that 1) the implementation of the Islamic values provided by the hospital was in general was ‘good’, 2) the quality of public services in general was also ‘good’, and 3) the correlation between the implementation of Islamic values and the quality of public services was ‘positive’ (0.458 on Pearson Product Moment index). It can be concluded that the more Islamic values were implemented, the quality of public services tended to be more realized. Theoretically, the finding were expected to yield evidence that there was positive correlation between organizational culture, especially religious values, and organizational performance, especially quality of public services. Practically, the findings encouraged the hospital managers to keep improving their implementation of Islamic values since the of quality of public services tended to increase as well.</em></p><p><strong>Kata kunci: </strong>nilai-nilai Islam, pelayanan publik, rumah sakit Islam Ibnu Sina<strong></strong></p>

<p><em>In Islamic marriage system, mahar is one of the prior concern although it is not any of rules (rukun) of the marriage itself. Etymologically, mahar means dowry. Terminologically, it refers to something which is given by a husband to his wife as replacement or guarantee from him from what he takes from her. It can be either in form of things or sevices (such as setting slaves free, teaching, etc. Basically, mahar is genuinely the right of a wife. That means it is the wife that determines what and how many/much she wants it to be given to her. Even if she does not want anything for her mahar, a husband does not need to force to provide it. However, if his wife requires him to give her mahar, it should be whole and kind hearted gift to her. This reasonable since mahar symbolizes deep and true feeling of love and legal evidence of bond between a husband and a wife. However, in its implementation, mahar is not a simple as it may seem. Involving traditional and religious leaders in determining and approving mahar (as in Binabo Julu village) made few marriages postponed, unregistered (siri) or even cancelled. <p><em>The religious conflicts in Indonesia were inter-religious conflicts, conflict between the religious groups as heretical, and the internal conflicts of the religion-people who have a different understanding. This article examines the intensely about the issue and attempt to uncover the root of problems behind. From this analysis, there was significance paradigmatic model of resolution based holistic theology and transformative. <p><em>This study aims to: (1) describe the role MGMP in improving the professionalism of English teachers; (2) know the model increase the professionalism of English teachers in MGMP; (3) know the effectiveness of the development strategy of the professionalism of English teachers in MGMP. The design of this study was qualitative research. The collection of the data was done through interview. Findings show that: (1) Implementation of the program MGMP is by planning, implementing and evaluating program; (2) Strategy in improving the professionalism of English teachers in the MGMP is by training, non-training, certification program and educating supervise program; (3) The development model of the professionalism of English teachers is effective to improve the professionalism of English teachers by four domains, namely: the realm of the needs of teachers, sphere of activity in the MGMP, the realm of evaluation and feedback, and the realm of the increase in the professionalism of teachers</em><em></em></p>

<p><em>Running the business with a good morale is not the easy task. Some businesses manage their employees in an un-Islamic way that conduce disapproval and dissatisfaction against their leader. The same problem is also found among business students in campus especially for those who have the same merchandise that create the unhealthy competition where the students justify all sorts of ways. To solve this problem, the researcher made the teaching material about business morality by using digital services likes What Sapp, video call, video conference and blog including managing people, and leadership that delivered and measured through interview, observation and test which is developed by Social Cultural Affective (SCA) model for ESP students of Economic Faculty at IAIN Bukittinggi. The purpose of the material is to increase the students’ business competency to be a leader. As a result, these materials are effective to improve students’ business ability which are done based on business morality and Islamic manner as guided by the Prophet, Muhammad SAW. Ultimately, the students are easier to manage people and comprehend the way to be a young businessman supported by the digital services.<strong></strong></em></p>

<p><strong>Effect of Job Satisfaction, Motivation and Leadership Styles Of Employee Performance in Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Batusanggkar</strong>. Issues raised in this study is whether job satisfaction, motivation and leadership styles affect the performance of employees at STAIN Batusangkar. This study aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction, motivation and leadership style on employee performance at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Batusanggkar (STAIN) Batusanggkar.</p><p>The results of hypothesis testing showed that: (1) there is a positive and significant impact employee job satisfaction on employee performance STAIN Batusanggkar the effective contribution of 6.3 % and 0.047 significance. (2) there is a positive and significant impact employee motivation STAIN Batusanggkar the effective contribution of 21.23 % and a significance of 0.000. (3) there is a positive and significant effect of leadership style on employee performance by employees Batusanggkar effectively 6.5 % and significance of 0.044. <p><strong>Effect of Leadership Head Madrasah on The Performance Teacher In MAS se-Kabupaten Tanah Datar. </strong>The purpose of this research was to reveal how extend the correlations of of the school principal’s leadership and the teamwork towarthe teachers’ performance of Privat Islamic Senior High at Tanah Datar Regency.There were three hypotheses to be tested : the school principal’s leadership contributed significantly toward the teachers’ performance; of Privat Islamic Senior High at Tanah Datar Regency.</p><p>Research population were all teacher of privat Islamic Senior High at Tanah Datar Regency of 386 teachers from which 59 teachers were selected as a research sample by means of the stratified proportional random sampling technique. <p><em>يهدف هذا البحث إلى الحصول على معلومات حول تعلم اللغة العربية وخاصة مهارة الكلام في قسم تعليم اللغة العربية في جامعة باتوسنجكر الاسلامية الحكومية. يستخدم البحث منهجا كميا. أدوات جمع البيانات هي الاختبار والاستبيان. تم تحليل البيانات باستخدام الإحصاء الوصفي. تشير نتائج البحث إلى أن قدرة الطلاب على الكلام في الفصل "أ" بنسبة 28٪ منخفضة، و 36٪ متوسطة ، و 36٪ عالية. بينما في الفصل "ب"، تكون قدرة الكلام لدى الطلاب 36.4٪ منخفضة و 40.9٪ متوسطة و 22.7٪ عالية. سبب ضعف قدرة الطلاب هو عدم ملاءمة استراتيجية المعلمين في تدريس الكلام. وافق حوالي 96٪ من طلاب الفصل "أ" و 86.4٪ من طلاب الفصل "ب" لديهم إجابة مماثلة. سبب آخر هو انخفاض دافع الطلاب للتعلم. وافق طلاب الصف "أ" على حوالي 76٪ منهم وأجاب 77٪ من طلاب الصف "ب" نفس الشيء. من النتائج ، يمكن الاستنتاج أن عدم قدرة الطلاب على التكلم باللغة العربية يمكن التغلب عليها من خلال تحسين استراتيجيات التدريس وتشجيع أقصى قدر من الحافز لتعلم اللغة العربية.</em></p><p><em>This research aims to obtain infomation about Arabic learning especially speaking skill in Arabic Language Education Department at IAIN Batusangkar. The research uses a quantitative approach. The instruments to collect the data are test and questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the research state that the students’ speaking ability at class “ A “ are 28% low, 36% moderate, and 36% high. While, at class “B”, students’ speaking abilities are 36.4% low, 40,9% moderate, and 22.7% high. The cause of students’ low ability is the unappropriateness of teachers’ strategy in teaching speaking. There are about 96% students at class “A” agreed and 86.4% students at class “B” had similar answer. Another cause is students’ low motivation in learning. Class “A” students agreed for about 76% of them and 77% of class “B” students answered the same. From the finding, it can be concluded that the inability of students to speak Arabic can be overcomed by improving teaching strategies and encouraging maximum motivation to learn Arabic.</em></p>

<p>Research has been conducted about change power and efficiency on turbine. Manufacture of turbine singer aims to determine the magnitude of the reviews on power output and efficiency due to the rotation of the turbine runner. Turbine runner done with variation 90 rpm, 70 rpm, 50 rpm, 30 rpm and 10 rpm. Of the various rounds of runner that shows the maximum power change occurred on lap 50 rpm, 70 rpm and 90 rpm. Maximum power lead to speed with discharge runners 70 rpm flow 0.0078 m3 / s at 4,572 watts. Power generated minumum on debit 0.0078 m3 / s occurred on speed runner 90 rpm of 3,674 watts. Maximum turbine efficiency occurs debit on flow 0.0078 m3/s and 70 rpm with a value of 28.342%, and then declined in round 50 rpm amounted to 24.477% and the lowest in round 90 rpm amounted to 23.189%. From the calculation of the efficiency obtained maximum value is obtained at a speed of 70 rpm with a flow runner debit 0.0078 m3 / s.</p>Key words: power, efficiency, kinetic turbines

<div><p><em>Strategy-based instruction is believed to able to improve students’ involvement in learning, including learning listening. Unfortunately, the lack concept of the instruction and the less training that the students have causes them still struggling in learning listening. This research report is aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using strategy-based instruction in term of students’ involvement and students’ comprehension in listening. This is a classroom action research of which the researcher and the teacher worked collaborately in implementing the strategy-based instruction. The research was done in two cycles of which each cycle was realized in three meetings. The data were collected using questionnaire and test. The finding suggests that the strategy-based instruction improve students’ learning in term of involvement and comprehension. The involvement in learning listening raised in all aspects of strategies which include cognitive, metacognitive and socio-affective strategies which reaches 30,3%. The improvement in term of involvement also affects the improvement in students’ comprehension from the average of 47 in the beginning of the study to 73 or 53% at the end of the.</em><em></em></p><strong>Key words: </strong>Students engagement, learning strategy, strategy based instruction</div>

This study employed ethnography method and such techniques as observation, interview, documentary studies and questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed by means of domain, taxonomy and componential analyses. Findings showed that the learning habits of the majority students of outstanding achievement class (kelas unggulan) of MTsN Batusangkar both at school and at home were good. Those habits were in line with achievement which they took is a reward. Satisfaction toward the reward encouraged them to be more motivated in learning which in turn developed better learning habit. These had formed a good chain in learning process.
