<p>This research was found effectivity and correlation Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on number of growth <em>Candida albicans</em> in vitro incubation. Dilution method was use to dilute suspension of <em>C. albicans</em> on Sabouraud's medium. Then, <em>C. albicans</em> was account at 37°C in 24-48 hours incubation. Bioactivity test were replicated three times. Data analysis used SPSS for window 12. One-Way Anova and correlation test use to differ treatment. The research was found number of <em>C. albicans</em> was lower with add of VCO. This result was different at (p<0,05). Correlation test was conducted number of VCO with <em>C. albicans</em>. Then, VCO was effective to defect of growth <em>C. albicans</em> in vitro incubation and there were correlation number of VCO with <em>C. albicans</em> on Sabouraud's medium.</p><p>Key word: virgin coconut iil, <em>Candida albicans</em>, effectifity, incubation in vitro </p>

<p>This research study about use of prebiotic <em>Ipomea batatas</em> L. and probiotic <em>Lactobacillus casei</em> at milk fermentation. The usage of simbiotic increase, recentely, especially, for husbandarys products, such as milk fermentation the purpose of this study was to find out the best composition of prebiotic <em>Ipomoea batatas</em> L and probiotic <em>Lactobacillus casei</em> given in the process of simbiotic milk fermentation. The method used for this experiment was random cluster, factorial 4 x 3 with 3 times of re-treatment, and was analyzed with BNT and BNJ testing. “A” factor was the use of prebiotic <em>Ipomoea batatas</em> L. (0%, 7,5 %, 15 %, 22,5 %), and “B” factor was the use of probiotic <em>Lactobacillus casei</em> (2%, 3%, 4 %) the component measure were BAL , water and TTA the result of this study was shown that the best use of prebiotic <em>Ipomoea batatas</em> L and probiotic <em>Lactobacillus casei</em> in the process of symbiotic milk fermentation were in the composition of highest BAL : 21,40 x 10<sup>8</sup> cfu/ml. the highest TTA and water were 0,21 % and 71,98 22,5 % of prebiotic <em>Ipomoea batatas</em> L. and 4% probiotic Lactobacillus casei consentrate.</p><p> </p><span>Key words:</span><strong> </strong><span>prebiotic, </span><em>Ipomea batatas</em><span> L., probiotic, </span><em>Lactobacillus casei</em><span>, milk fermentatio</span>

<div><p>The gasoline purity test has been carried out in several retailers inPadangcity using Mercury atomic absorption spectroscopy method. As an object of study was taken 10 samples of gasoline were sold in stalls scattered retailers in the city ofPadang, for subsequent comparison with standard samples that taken from Pertamina Teluk Kabung Padang. Spectrum produced by each sample was analyzed based percentage difference between the spectrum peak, the angle position and the sample wavelength. To determine the level of gas purity, the mixing gasoline with kerosene have been done with the percentage ratio of 5% to 25%. From this research, it appears that gasoline retailers in the region of Batas Kota, Air Pacah and Pasar Baru indicating that the mixing of gasoline and kerosene to achieve the highest percentage, namely 25.3%, 23.2% and 17.2%. Meanwhile, the regions with the lowest percentage of blending gasoline and kerosene are in the area of Tunggul Hitam, Kuranji and Bungus, namely 3.7%, 5.0% and 4.9%.</p>Key words: purity, gasoline, several retailers, atomic spectrum</div><div> </div>

<p>This research studied about the the respondents characteristic at the legislative general pre-election in 2009. The researcher used statistic analysis to see the association and structural connection between variables as the characteristic of voters’ behavior. The data used in this study is gotten from the result of a survey on voters’ behavior in the form of counting and category data, that’s why the statistic methods used was CHAID. Analysis of CHAID showed that the variables having the strongest association with the party choice is age. CHAID method at the analysis of respondent characteristics of voters in the election resulted in five segments of the party choice of respondents. In each segment, the old party is still the party that is trusted by respondents to represent their voice in parliament.</p><p>Key words: voting behavior, interaction, chi-square, CHAID method</p>

<p><em>S</em><em>taphylococcus</em><em> aureus</em> infection can be treated with Methicilin, β lactam class of antibiotics that have drug targets in the cell wall. Bacteria S. aureus that is resistant to methicillin called methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). One alternative that can be used in strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that have this is to use medicinal plants. This study aimed to know the ability of medicinal plant extracts inhibit the growth of bacterial strains of MRSA. This kind of research is experimental research. Medicinal plants tested were Garlic, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Daun Salam, Curcuma, Ginger, Betel Leaf and Alpinia galanga. As a control, which is used Amphicillin, β lactam antibiotic class. The method used to determine the diameter of inhibition area of medicinal plant extracts is paper diffusion method. The results showed that all medicinal plants can inhibit bacterial growth of MRSA strains characterized by the inhibition zone formed on each treatment. The ability of garlic and turmeric extract better than Amphicillin and other medicinal plants to inhibit bacterial growth of MRSA strains.<strong></strong></p><p><strong>Kata kunci: </strong><strong>inhibit, </strong>growth, bacteria, methicillin resistant <em>staphylococcus aureus</em> (MRSA)</p>

<p>This study aimed to examine the magnetic properties of sediments from Teluk Katurai Siberut island Mentawai islands. The study on sediment samples from Teluk Katurai had been carried out by using three methods, i.e., measurements of AMS (Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility) to determine the anisotropy shape of magnetic susceptibility, IRM (Isothermal Remanent Magnetization) to identify the their magnetic minerals contains based on the saturation curve, and AAS (Anisotropy of Anhysteretic Susceptibility) that produce anhisteritik susceptibility. From the stereonet plot and other anisotropy parameters were obtained that ellipsoid susceptibility form is oblate. It was also obtained that the type of magnetic mineral is magnetite based on magnetic saturation curves. Meanwhile the identification of grain size distribution was obtained by plotting the value of AMS versus AAS. The plots showed the magnetic grains of sediment was approximately 0.2 µm to 0.1µm.</p><span>Key words: magnetic susceptibility, anisotropy, anhisteritic susceptibility</span>

<div><p>Long peanut is one of the sources of protein which is easy to develop in every region. The problem of increasing the production of Long peanut is the existence of pest that destroys Long peanut. Pestwhich attack Long peanut is <em>Aphis craccivora</em>. In relation to that, it has been done a research about the population of Aphis craccivora of Long peanut in regency of Kuranji, Kuranji district,Padang. This research had been done on Mey 2007 in a garden of a farmer. This research used descriptive method, that is the observation directly to the field, and the data collection used Chemical Knock Down technique. Identification is done in the Laboratory of HPT department, Agriculture faculty,University ofAndalas,Padang. From this research, it is found that the population of Aphis craccivora is 83, 62 per plant. This research was formed the background of the low ability of mathematics literacy<br />of Indonesian students based on PISA International survey. The researcher was<br />interested in doing the research how the mathematics literacy ability of the students<br />of public junior high schools (SMP Negeri) in Bukittinggi was and what the factors<br />influenced on it. The research was conducted to describe the mathematics literacy<br />ability of the students of public junior high schools in Bukittinggi and find out the<br />factors influenced on it. The research done was qualitative quantitative descriptive.<br />The schools choosen was done based on Purposive Sampling. The school choosen as<br />the research sample was SMP Negeri 1 Bukittinggi. The subject of the research was<br />grade IX consisted of 62 students. The research instrument was test, observation and<br />interview. The technique of data analysis was descriptive statistics. Based on the<br />analysis done, the average result was only 36,24% questions answered well, with the<br />average mark 31,87. The greatest students‟ percentage in answering the questions<br />were in the under second level and the smallest were in the above third level. These<br />results indicated that the students‟ mathematics literacy ability in SMP Negeri<br />Bukittinggi was still relatively low. Based on the human competence 21st century,<br />these results also reflected that the students of SMP Negeri Bukittinggi did not have<br />enough preparation in facing the globalization era of the 21st century. The<br />observation result and interview given concluded that the low ability of the students‟<br />mathematics literacy in SMP Negeri Bukittinggi caused by the lack of teachers‟<br />knowledge about mathematics literacy and the learning process which was not<br />related to the real-life contexts of the students.

Autonomy has been defined as the capacity to control one‟s own learning. At the most<br />basic level, fostering this capacity in the classroom begins with the teacher‟s own<br />decision to become more aware actively in the student‟s learning in order that the<br />students may also become more actively involved in making choices and decisions.<br />Indeed, teachers need to optimize their roles such as facilitator who iniates and<br />supports decision-making processes, a counselor who responds to the ongoing needs<br />of individuals, a resource who makes his or her knowledge and expertise available to<br />the learners when it is needed, and so forth. In another word, we, as teachers, cannot<br />teach students to be come more autonomous. We can, however, create the atmosphere<br />and conditions in which they will feel encouraged to develop the autonomy that they<br />already have. One way to acquire this is by bringing Information and Communication<br />Technology (ICT) into the classroom. It is the use of webtools, Storybird web 2. tool<br />for teaching writing. It will not only highly motivate the students to write in English<br />and other languages but also it gives an opportunity for the students to control their<br />own learning experiences by means of technology device.

The purpose of this paper is to highlight the fostering of faith in Allah SWT through<br />Biology teaching. The first part of this paper discusses the urgency of fostering faith in<br />Allah SWT. This section elaborates on the faith and the arguments underlying the<br />urgency of fostering faith in Allah SWT. The second part of this paper discusses<br />coaching approach faith in Allah. This section describes the types of approaches in the<br />guidance faith in Allah. The third part of this paper discusses approach of the fostering<br />of faith in Allah SWT in biology teaching. This section describes the techniques and<br />procedures in the fostering of faith in biology teaching.

This is a field reseach performing diagnostic tests to analyze the difficulties of<br />learners in narrative form. Subject of the study were 21 students at SMAN 1<br />Rambatan, West Sumatera. They were given about the test designed to measure their<br />mathematical connection abilityby adjusting the questions to analyze their learning<br />difficulties. Interviews were conducted among students classified with learning<br />difficulties. The data were analyzed with data tabulation procedures, analyzing the<br />results of the test, reducing the data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. After<br />that, they were validated by using data triangulation. The results obtained, the<br />students turned out to have learning difficulties in mathematics are three kinds of<br />connection indicator. The difficulty is illustrated by the inability of students to<br />understand the concepts, symbols and spatial relations in trigonometry. The learners‟<br />inability to view visual objects such as identifying information about the overall and<br />not able to explain the information that learners get and learners are not able to<br />combine the visual and motor skills in solving a given problem.

This article discusses the role of Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) in<br />building creativity and character of students. Most of students in Indonesia tended to<br />have difficulty in developing their creativity because there is less opportunity in<br />mathematics learning process. Nowadays character building also introduced by<br />government as one of Indonesian education aims. PMRI or Realistic Mathematics<br />education is one of mathematics learning Approaches that uses reality as the starting<br />point in the learning process. Characteristics of this approach are believed build<br />students‟ creativity and build students‟ Character. Students‟ creativity can be built by<br />contextual problem and students‟ character can be built by social interaction.

It is the duty<br />and responsibility of parents to explore and develop the potential that is a necessity<br />to be the birth of the golden generation if this potential is developed with appropriate<br />parenting through golden parenting (integration between smart parenting and<br />Islamic parenting) holistic. Golden parenting is appropriate parenting methods given<br />when children in the golden age.

The aims of debating are to enable the students to be active and creative in the classroom. Debating is also assumed as a valuable learning activity for teaching critical thinking and improving communication skills. Debating is an effective pedagogical way because of the level of responsibility for learning and active involvement required by all student debaters. Many teachers realize that the best strategy for motivating the students to communicate in English is by changing the situation in the class. By creating an interesting and motivating environment, the students are expected to be immersed in the activities given by the teachers. Moreover, an ideal teacher should provide opportunities for students to talk by using group work or pair work, and limiting teacher talk. Therefore, the teacher should keep encouraging the students to get involved during the process of learning in the class most of the time.</em></p></div>

<p><em>Quantity and the quality of counseling services for senior high school students are still much lower that they are expected is suspected to be due to their low skill in mastering counseling approaches in one side and students’ tendency to consult their peers. Researches prove that peer counseling is more effective in developing students’ personality growth and solving several child, teenager and even parents’ problems. A ‘qawaid’ teaching technique (uslub) is one of many teaching techniques of language. The choosing technique has to be consistent with teaching method used, and it has to be appropriate with relevant approaches. The application of teaching ‘qawait’ can be combined with some strategies. It means that if a teacher is not successful in applying one technique, s/he can change it with another technique directly. The differences of students’ mastery (not homogen) in class may influence the accuracy and the success of teaching technique used. <p><em>Syllabus is a development of curriculum that contains synopsis, competency, indicator of topic/ sub- topic, and reference of a major. To apply curriculum well in a classroom, it is better to develop syllabus to become a lesson plan. Lesson plan consists of some components; Standard Competency, Basic Comptency, Indicator Competency, Lecture material and its description, learning experience (learning Strategy), media/ learning tools, evaluation system, and reference.
