Abstrak
This study discusses the problems related the low ability of the teachers at SDN 27<br />Pangian in implementing the thematic learning in the lower grade. The purpose of<br />this study is to improve teachers‟ competence in applying thematic learning in lower<br />grade by using peer teaching at SDN 21 Pangian. The subjects of this research were<br />teachers who taught in low-grade second semester in the academic year 2014/2015 at<br />SDN 27 Pangian. This reseach used two cycles.Each cycle includes some activities.<br />They were planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of cycle I to cycle<br />II showed the increase of teachers‟ ability in teaching thematic in low grade by using<br />peer teaching activities. At the first cycle, the ability of teachers was not good. The<br />average was 74%. In the second cycle, the ability of teachers increased on excellent<br />category. The average score was 90%. This research conludes that the use of<br />thematic learning using peer teaching can improve teachers‟ competence.
