Abstrak

One of the microfinance institutions that has a place in the community is Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) because it operates according to sharia. Its open operational activities to public and ease of utilizing its services require government to give special attention to BMT. Legislation No. 1 year 2013 on MFI and POJK No. 61 / Pojk.05 / 2015 which discusses specifically the MFI with its licensing and legal entity is not enough for the development of BMT. Capital requirements are perceived not to provide free space for BMT and they even close the possibility of development and expansion of BMT in the future.
